Hey there!

Welcome to my blog!

Where to start?

Nov 21, 2023

Working on a month of no drinking, I have had a couple of slips, but keep on keeping on. I have been trying not to beat myself up for it, that doesn’t really help the cause. I felt that my drinking was starting to take more of my time and less production, so it was time to take a time out. Even though the habit of cooking dinner and having a beer or cocktail to sip on, now consists of fancy sparkling water or my Fake Beer, which I do have to say has come a long way.

I’m lucky I have a friend doing this with me, it makes it a lot easier, we know each other’s pain. I personally don’t think I have a huge problem with alcohol, although I have turned to alcohol to relieve stress, or just bottle things up, so the feels are alive and well after a few weeks off. My goal is to go from a drinker of every day to back to the occasional, or on weekends only. I feel seeing that in writing seems ridiculous, but I truly believe in moderation and my moderation hasn’t been. So on to a new day with a new batch of things to conquer tomorrow in a sober mind.
