Hey there!

Behind the Curtain

Behind the Curtain

So as I go into February I have decided to make it a dry month. I originally had planned to do dry January, it seemed the stress of family members illnesses got the best of me. Not that the illnesses have gone away, I have to keep myself as healthy as possible. I had gotten this app for dry February to help keep me on track with no alcohol, and with plugging in my Friday and Saturday drinks in the app, it let me know I was over moderation on Friday and over binge drinking on Saturday, so it was an eye opener, even though I didn’t really think I was drinking that much. I guess we all need a reality check. So come February 1, I am taking it off with the drinking, no matter how stressful life can be.

The hardest part of not drinking for myself, is I think it’s part of my identity, I always like to have a good time, throw parties, go to parties. One of my favorite jobs was being a bar tender and manage a liquor store. I liked working the liquor store to learn about different kinds of liquors and bar tending was fun because you are part of the party, yet I’m not drinking. So it’s not like I have to drink to have fun. So I am hoping by the end of this next month brings more clarity and bring moderation back into my life. Not that I feel I have a huge problem, but a reality check once in a while is a good thing. As we get older I think it’s always good to have a reality check in many things, whether your smoking to much or working, stressing out, sleeping or not sleeping, lack of motivation, I could go on, personal growth is a good thing.

So wish me luck, I will be writing about my Dry February experience when the month is over. I see a lot of my spinning bike and club soda with lime in my future.

Life as a Gigi!
