When the oldest Baby Girl gets her Wisdom teeth Pulled!

When the oldest Baby Girl gets her Wisdom teeth Pulled!

Yesterday my oldest daughter Jazmine got her wisdom teeth pulled. What a day. It started by an early appointment to the oral surgeon, she was really nervous and scared. This was the first major medical thing she’s had done at this point in her life. I was doing my best to comfort her, but in the times of Covid you can’t go in with them you have to wait in your car. So I sat in the car and listened to my audiobook to kill time, about an hour later, here comes my daughter in a wheelchair and her nurse. She was pretty high from the anesthesia and pretty funny to boot. Then the nurse left, Jaz had a meltdown, even though it was rather funny, I realized how scared she really was. That nurse held my daughters hand the whole time during her surgery and my daughter was so struck by that.

I was so happy that nurse was there for my daughter when I couldn’t be there. Now I understand that oral surgery isn’t like a 10 hour surgery, not making this more dramatic than necessary, but it’s in these moments you realize once a mom always a mom. I also realized for as much as I worry about my kids, that when our kids are going through something they never have been through, they too are still that child who needs the comfort of their parents no matter how old they get. They need you to be there to hold their hand, drive them home, give them a hug when they are in pain. They want you to stay with them for the added comfort while they heal. Thankfully my kids are close and I can provide that for them, oh hell I would go anywhere they needed me, no matter where. So with that all said, in the time of Covid where you can be there, but at a distance, I have to say a huge THANK YOU to the nurse who held my daughter’s hand and a huge THANK YOU to all the nurses who are holding our loved ones hands when we can’t!! Cheers to you all!!!!
